"Humbly I tried to learn, More humbly did I teach"

 - excerpt from "Teacher" by Langston Hughes

My interest and passion is communicating science to improve educational outcomes and understanding of the world we live in. I've worked in education and instructional design, translating complex information from subject matter experts into engaging, learner focused training - from eLearning courses to in-person events. As an educational professional, and former university professor, I have over a decade of experience developing curricula, teaching, and instructional design in higher education and corporate settings. I strive to enable life-long learning by meeting people where they're at to provide equitable learning opportunities.

In addition to my interest in education, I've conducted research in urban tree biometrics, tree ring analysis, and volunteer engagement to advanced scientific understanding, education, and community engagement. The diversity of people and natural resources in our communities are critical components to providing equitable in urban landscapes.  As an experienced scientist with research experience in quantitative analysis, I also use training data to develop analyses of training efficacy, in a variety of disciplines, through application of statistical techniques and data visualization.
